Not so long ago, in a place not so far away, APG & MillerKnoll hosted Return of the Magis: May the Fourth be with You

Our Northeast Ohio team in Akron held a reception on May 4, to showcase some amazing work done my local industry teams. Magis puppies were reimagined based on a theme of each team's choosing and they did not disappoint.

Some teams applied a Star Wars theme to their creations.

MPG Team 1 brought to life a Magis-sized AT-AT with tiny Luke mini-fig suspended below.

Hasenstab created an X-Wing fighter Magis complete with miniature versions of iconic Herman Miller and Knoll products.

And hippie Princess Leia Magis was adorned with groovy flowers white booties by the team from GPD Group.

MPG Team 2 turned the spotlight back onto One of a Kind with a an adorable Magis wrapped in colorful faux fur. Included with their entry were miniature Magis puppies that attendees could take home in exchange for a donation to the rescue.

The winning entry, submitted by JoAnn Fabrics, was a fun and interactive way to play with Magis. Full of moving parts and marble tracks, it was an entertaining Magis that the crowd found worthy of "Best of Show." The team included Victoria Pittman, Erin Miller, Jacqueline Cummings, and Kim Floyd, who will each be taking home an Eames wire base table.

Saving what we love

Some of the entries were donated to One of a Kind Pet Rescue for display in their facility. Stay tuned! They may auction those at future events to help support their mission.

Special thanks go out to everyone that brought donations of cash, food, treats, toys, cleaning supplies, office supplies, blankets, and towels. We were able to deliver an SUV-load of necessities for One of a Kind. Seriously, we're talking a LARGE vehicle stuffed full of things they need every day to look after the animals in their care.

It was a fantastic evening connecting with our industry colleagues in support of a local organization working to change the lives of pets in need.

And a Very Special Appearance...

Tanya Jonda, Executive Director of One of a Kind, was in attendance with adoptable rescue dog Buffy. What an incredible opportunity for everyone to see firsthand the lives that are changed by the efforts of the rescue, and for Buffy to meet so many kind supporters.
